The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 44-year-old Sequamn Storts, who has reported a move from the Dutchess County Jail to a residence on East Market Street in Hyde Park.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Storts as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense." He is also designated as a "sexually violent offender."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Storts had sexual intercourse and deviate sexual intercourse with his 17-year-old victim in January 2001. He was convicted of engaging in sexual intercourse or conduct with a related person and sodomy for having intercourse with a physically helpless victim in February the following year. Storts was sentenced to a term of between two and four yeards in prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
